Shashi Tharoor has finally spoken about the petition that has been doing the rounds for the last few days. The petition started by a Kerala resident, wants UPA to name Tharoor as the prime ministerial candidate for the 2019 general elections.

Was He Pressured?

Today, Tharoor posted his response to the petition on his Facebook page. He says, he is 'touched' by the gesture but would want the creator to withdraw it. Basically, the dude politely declined.

UPA's Only Chance?

Many feel, he is the only hope for the UPA to give a credible fight to the BJP.  The Rahul Gandhi-led Congress has been facing crushing defeats in one state election after another. The Congress leader has just come out with a book titled 'An Era Of Darkness: The British Empire In India.'
