An Indian beer has been named as the "Beer of the Month" by the United Nations. Yes, we are beery proud.
In what can be called a proud moment, Indian brand Bira 91 has been named the Beer of the month for United Nations. This brand has been picked after going through a list of set procedures. Imagine, now the members of United Nations will sip on an Indian beer while talking about serious issues like climate change and female foeticide.
Reports suggest that this is the first time that the UN has selected an imported brand to be served to UN's North Delegate Lobby to ambassadors, delegates and special guests.
In an interview with Outlook India, the owner of the company, Ankur Jain said, "The United Nations Delegates Lounge is a fantastic space for delegates and other global leaders to share their ideas and come up with solutions to make the world a better place. Now they can do so while enjoying a cold Bira."
Are we proud? Yes, super proud. How about you?
