Makers of Neerja had promised that they will be donating 10% of the Box Office Collections to the Neerja Bhanot Trust. Looks like the producers forgot to do so and now, they are facing some real legal trouble.

Neerja, the movie was one of the best movies we saw in 2016. Of course, the story was exceptional but so was the acting and Sonam Kapoor even got a mention from the Jury of the National Awards. But now the movie is back in news and the news is definitely not good.

Neerja's brother Aneesh's comment

“I will not comment on this issue at this stage. All I can tell you is that we will not tolerate injustice."

Leading photographer Atul Kaspekal was one of the producers

Neerja collected 135 crore rupees at the Box Office. The movie was produced by Fox Star Studios and Bling Unplugged, the film was co-produced by leading fashion photographer Atul Kasbekar. The Bhanot family is known to have opened their hearts to the makers and in exchange the had asked the makers to donate 10 percent of the earning to the trust.

Bhanot family has registered a case against the makers in the Punjab and Haryana court and a summon has been sent to them. We are sure the makers will now pay the trust but this is one embarrassing situation that they could have easily avoided.
